The Internet and Power

The Internet uses a lot of power, and most of it simply kept at idle. We all generate a lot of data, but even more than that, we generate a lot of demand for instant access to data, and there’s a tremendous cost that goes along with that.

The New York Times did a great job explaining some of this in the video they posted this week, and they have a great long explanation of this whole industry. We’ll be posting more about this later on, but it’s worth diving into.

Check out their video here.
